Hello, I'm Jessica

My love for books and reading began early on in childhood. I loved the idea of grand adventures, of a hero going through many trials but persevering in the end. I wanted to be a hero in those stories to go through trials and still be standing after it all.

As I grew older, I realized this was no easy feat. I struggle with my mental health. There was an emptiness inside my chest that nothing could fill. No matter what I tried. No book, story, person, or thing could fill it completely.

That was until I had an encounter with the Lord. He spoke to me in a time I felt like I had no one. In a time of desperation. He called me to Him. He named me His.

Afterwards, I began to pursue Him. He led me to a Church where I felt His presence. Where I felt comfortable enough to open up and was heard. God gave me a hunger for Him and His Word. I began to actively start studying the Bible, attending a Bible Study Group at Church, to listen to Gospel music outside of Sunday Service. He gave me freedom and a sense of peace.

So much so, I asked to be baptized in His name. I was and am proud to belong the Lord and my savior Jesus Christ. However, my struggles were not over. My Salvation in Jesus is just not a onetime event or decision. But rather a continuous adventure of sorts. I was saved when I gave my life over to Him, I am being saved in daily devotion to Him, I will be saved when the time comes to bring me into His Kingdom of Heaven.

Weeks after my baptism, I have grown to learn there are still tests and trials I must undergo. Just because I was saved does not mean my journey or story is finished. It has been a rollercoaster of emotions so far. Loneliness, isolation, and separation just to name a few. But also, elation, excitement, and belonging.

I realize that as I am separated from worldly matters and enter Godly matters, I might experience this rollercoaster sensation quite often.

Which is what drew me to create this blog. To not only connect with others who are either in their beginning stages of their Journey with Christ, or well-seasoned in their walk with the Lord. But to also make a way for others to encourage and share their story. And finally, to spread the Words and Works of the Lord.

I invite you to read, share, and experience this adventure with me.
